nmo continues to enjoy financial support from several sources and wishes to develop and broaden this funding alongside its increasingly ambitious programming.

Of particular importance from 2008 is its scheme of 'mini-residencies' - a natural progression from the nmo's substantial experience as a leading provider of concert and outreach activity. Mini-residencies will be taking place throughout the country, in both urban and rural settings, broadening public access to concert performance whilst stimulating interest in instrumental music in nearby primary school settings.

These mini-residencies have linked programme elements. They also include at least one 'academy', in which talented local instrumental students work alongside nmo professionals for a full day.

Mini-residencies can be supported by corporate sponsors, major charitable trusts, arts councils, local councils - in partnership or in exclusivity. Further details of this scheme or of other funding opportunities with the nmo are available from nmotrust@aol.com
